Does anyone else have a slight obsession with velvet and fabric pumpkins? I decided to put them everywhere in my fall living room decor this year.
I remember when the velvet pumpkin fad made its first appearance on the internet years ago. I wasn’t really sure what to make of them.
A part of me thought they were super cute, and then the other part of me thought they weren’t because, come on, velvet is for the 90’s right?
And 90’s fashion was so NOT cool!
But here I am, now years later, embracing the velvet pumpkin fad, and hey, I even have a super cute custom, high-low, leopard-print velvet top now.
Back to fall decor…
Before I dive into this year’s fall decor for my living room, let’s take a look at my last year’s fall living room decor:
So this year, I chose to change the color scheme up, just a tad, and then do tons of pumpkins. Velvet pumpkins, fabric ones, burlap ones, and more!
I made some of the pumpkins and bought some. Target had fabric pumpkins in their $1 section. I couldn’t help but grab 527 of them.
Okay, I grabbed like 9, but still. I would have grabbed them all if I didn’t have the self-control that keeps me frugal.
And I honestly kept it pretty simple in my fall decor this year.
I did, however, want to bring in blush pink into my Fall living room decor this year, so I added blush curtains and then some other pinks in my living room decor, like my “Hello Fall” pillow.
I added cute blush pink velvet table runner which went on my piano and some other fall goodies.
Added some more pops of pink in some candlesticks, topped with fabric pumpkins…
Of course, I added some more pumpkins here and there…
Made a new fireplace mantlepiece…
And can you believe it?! We FINALLY have a wood stove insert. Hallelujah! No more gaping hole in our fireplace.
You know my obsession with wreaths, so I just had to put up a new wreath, duh!
I love hydrangeas, so I snipped some from my Mom’s hydrangea bush and dried them so I could display them in my fall decor.
I also switched out my bright summery rug, for this darker more, “fall – ish” one. It has nice contrast with the black as the main color, and then the light pinks to really pull it all together.
And finally, in true fall fashion, I had to add my feathers in the decor. This year I put my feather garlands on top of the two mirrors by the window in my living room, and then some pheasant feathers in the mini wreaths on the mirrors.
That’s it! Pretty low key this year in the living room.
